Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC) was launched in 2013 with the aim to bring the region’s leading cybersecurity and information security pioneers together in one place, to share their knowledge and expertise on best practices to tackle increasing cyber threats and IT security vulnerabilities amid the rapid rise in connectivity and digital transformation across industries and society. Since its inception, GISEC, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), has evolved and firmly established itself as the region’s only true information security conference and exhibition. The sixth edition of GISEC, which runs from 1-3 May at DWTC, will bring together cybersecurity experts from regional and global governments, national agencies and corporations under one-roof to discus, debate and share insights on the latest cyber threats and how to tackle them.
What are the key objectives and mission of GISEC?
- To highlight the importance of knowledge sharing amidst the increasingly growing prevalence of cyber threats and attacks globally and provide a forum for industry leaders demonstrate the latest solutions and best practices to guard against attacks.

Who should attend GISEC?
As the foremost cyber security conference in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, the three-day show will feature more than 120 exhibitors from 80-plus countries, with four days of learning and more than 40 conference sessions led by 60-plus industry experts.

What interesting talks/activities can we expect to see at the event?
The three-day event and pre-show masterclasses will offer array of engaging activities, features, keynotes and discussions, highlighting world-leading practices and solutions to minimise the impact of cyberattacks. GISEC 2018 will shine the light on game-changing innovations and concepts set to transform the world in this digital era. One such feature is the new one-day AI Talks – featuring innovators and tech gurus addressing the impact of AI on businesses and societies amid increasing adoption of the redefining technology.
BFSI Cyber Focus Day, another new addition to the event, will highlight the challenges faced by the banking, financial services and insurance sector. In a special preview to the main event, on April 30, former CISOs from BP and Shell will deliver an in-depth session and share best practices to protect oil and gas industries during the Oil and Gas Masterclasses.
Meanwhile, running alongside GISEC, the Internet of Things Expo (IoTX) 2018 is a three-day summit focused on smart cities, addressing issues surrounding how to make a city truly smart, efficient and effective. Inspire Talks provides a platform for new-age inventors from across the globe to share insight and their game-changing inventions set to transform the way we live. Additionally, the free-to-attend sessions at X-Labs will highlight the latest developments in the sphere of AI, blockchain and IoT.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), GISEC and IoTX unite under the umbrella of Future Tech Week 2018. The co-located events will connect global-leading tech companies, government officials and industry peers from the region and across the globe.
The must-attend event will take place from 1-3 May 2018. Interested visitors can pre-register online. Visitor attending the exhibition halls must purchase tickets to attend the events’ conferences.
The co-located shows will be open to visitors from 10.30am to 6pm on 1 May; 10.00 am to 6.00pm on 2 and 3 May.
