Which VPN is better?

It’s as simple as wearing a coat when it rains and boots when it snows – a good VPN should keep you safe and dry during the worst cyberstorm, providing you with leak protection, anonymity and, ideally, a kill switch. Mullvad VPN sets out to do this and, despite being comparatively tiny, manages to get its umbrella up before the rain. Mullvad is simple to the point of being skeletal, however, and its one-size-fits-all pricing package reflects this mindset. Private Tunnel also have an uncomplicated approach to pricing, with their pay-as-you-go concept. Users buy the amount of data they expect to use and top up, as required. Cyberghost is competitively priced, but offers other-worldly standards of protection – more like an oil skin and galoshes where rivals are advocating one-use ponchos and gumboots!

CyberGhost is one of the most affordable VPNs on the market — you can get a subscription for as low as $2.19/month. I sometimes assume that price indicates quality, but with VPNs, I've been proven wrong before. So I wanted to see whether CyberGhost can really deliver at such a low price. I did a deep dive into CyberGhost’s privacy policy and security measures to determine whether it’s secu...

Simple To Use

Great interface and is very intuitive. Many locations with reasonably fast speeds. There are a lot of ... essential features I like as well. Wireguard, Wifi Protect, Etc. I took out the 2-year plan at a fair discount so I can say that, given the price, it's a decent balance of quantity and quality.More

Pretty good

CyberGhost does not connect automatically in pc when I connect online. Why? And on my phone (Android)...  it sometimes gets stuck, it does not open the app when vpn is working. I have to connect the VPN in my phone settings first. That is pretty annoying.More

Mullvad VPN has been popular among privacy buffs for some time now, but I’ve always wondered about its other features. Does it offer good value for your money? To find out, I tested its mobile and desktop apps and did some thorough research on its features. From this, it’s clear that Mullvad VPN offers more than privacy and has strong security features — it isn’t far behind the premium...

This is the best !

This is definitely the best VPN I have ever used ! First, there is no password for this service accou... nt. Second, the kill switch cannot be turned off. This is great news for error-prone users ! Third, payment for services can be made in bitcoin or monero. This helps improve anonymity. Fourth, and this is guaranteed by other services, is that it is open source and no-log. The service is operated in Sweden and can be trusted with respect to privacy. The disadvantages are higher fees and fewer servers than other companies. However, compared to the above four advantages, this is not a major issue. I would recommend this level of service to my family and close friends. fantastic !!!!!More

Private Tunnel is not available to new customers anymore, but I could still sign up at the moment of writing. The service was OpenVPN’s proprietary VPN service based on the OpenVPN protocol. Since it comes from a company that provides networking and cybersecurity services, I expected Private Tunnel to offer strong security and privacy features. I also expected a big server network and strong...

Bandwidth package lost, customer service won't help.

I had a nice fixed bandwidth package that would have lasted me for years. Because I accidentally si... gned up for a trial account, my bandwidth package was removed from my account (they admitted that this is a bug in their website) They refuse to reinstate my bandwidth package, saying that it is impossible (with all their expertise, I find that hard to believe). The fact is that they don't want to, they would rather I sign up for a high monthly fee. More

Why settle for less, when you can get a premium quality VPN at a cheaper price? While Mullvad VPN and Private Tunnel offer basic VPN features at higher costs, CyberGhost gives you more options, more servers, sleeker apps, and easy access to geoblocked content for better prices.

Although all three VPNs allow P2P and torrenting, CyberGhost is more budget-friendly and offers the fastest speeds and custom app profiles for torrenting.

Mullvad VPN and Private Tunnel offer simple, but limited software apps for Windows. On the other hand, CyberGhost is not only cheaper, but brings a feature-rich, visually striking, and intuitive app for Windows suitable for beginners and pros.

Private Tunnel offers a decent OpenVPN app for Android with basic features and simple installation, while Mullvad VPN requires more configuration steps. Android users will find CyberGhost’s Android app much easier and more comfortable to use. It’s not only slick and user-friendly, it's also packed with more features.

CyberGhost offers a more versatile, friendlier, and advanced client app for Mac users, compared to those provided by Mullvad VPN and Private Tunnel.

Mullvad VPN offers an OpenVPN app for iOS devices which is not only limited, but also not very easy to set up. Private Tunnel offers its own custom OpenVPN iOS client that’s slightly more efficient than Mullvad, however, both VPNs lack a lot of features - including a kill switch. CyberGhost, on the other hand, gives iOS users all they want in one vivid, user-friendly app that includes a kill switch among other features.

CyberGhost VPN has 500+ servers in the US, while Mullvad VPN has only 80+ and Private Tunnel is limited to 10+ servers. While Mullvad VPN and Private Tunnel fail to access US streaming services, CyberGhost can easily bypass geo-restrictions and VPN blocks and can get you into Netflix US and other services.

The Bottom Line

Private Tunnel prides itself on implementing perfect forward secrecy with their Open VPN, which gives better protection for those targeting torrent sites, but Cyberghost and Mullvad also both support this feature. Mullvad offers a no-frills service, but they are worth a try if you’re willing to give the underdog a shot. When all is said and done, however, Cyberghost gets my vote.
